flutie_piccolo7: More Unanswered Questions

These have been driving me crazy:

What did Dudley think of when he saw the dementor? What could be his worst memory?

"We shall have to send all the students home tomorrow," said Professor McGonagall. "This is the end of Hogwarts. Dumbledore always said. . ."
What did Dumbledore always say?

How is Voldemort the last remaining descendant of Salazar Slytherin? If Slytherin lived before c. 993, he could have any number of descendants living today.

And finally, does Slytherin have any connection with the Portuguese dictator Antonio Salazar?

Any thoughts?

Hmmmm...I just had a thought. What if Voldemort made a mistake at first and went after Dudley as a baby, thinking he was the kid to kill, until he realized that he wasn't a wizard? No, that doesn't make sense...Voldemort wouldn't have let any of the Dursleys live if that was the case. Maybe Dudley experienced something that caused him to be mean and nasty, maybe it wasn't just the wonderful influence of his model parents. *rolls eyes* :-P I'll think about this and comment again. Good question!

Dumbledore always said...that Hagrid and his monster weren't responsible for Myrtle's death? That the heir of Slytherin was still out there and could strike again? That life is like a box of chocolates?

Heh. I couldn't resist.

I want to know why when Voldemort showed up at the Potters' house, he killed James and then told Lily to "stand aside, you silly girl." I mean, he could have just as easily killed her right then. And somewhere later on V says something to the effect of "Your mother didn't have to die" to Harry. And also I am curious about how V gets away with his hypocritical racist attitude when he himself is half Muggle. One would think that Malfoy at least would take issue with that.

I think Dudley and Petunia might know a bit more about the wizarding world then they let on. I don't think either of them have any magic themselves, but Dumbledore's warning ("Remember my last") makes me think Petunia at least has some reason to detest magic other than jealousy of her sister.
Hmmmm, I should speculate on this one.
